Diversity is good, but those sites are played out. Hope it works out for you. NG has tons of "My next project will be done soon" posts, but the social networking sites has sooo many levels of exposition, and no one really seems to listen and respond.

It's bad enough everything we say online is pegged to our IP address.... who needs informants when we out ourselves? The US is really starting to look like pre-WWII Germany, only things like the internet do a good job of allaying those concerns.

Yeah, I don't have any high hopes for sites like FB and Twitter anyway, since I post all my stuff here in the first place. And all my fans are here to begin with.

I don't even know you anymore. We're over. I'll come for my stuff in the morning.

D-d-don't do this to me! What happened to the good ol' days?!
Didn't that mean anything to you?! ;_;

The good ol' days ended when you got those mainstream platform accounts. You know what? I'll send for my things.

It's not like I'll use them extensively.
Example: If I've never had Twitter, I've probably never known that Capcom were selling Mega Buster USB-Sticks, filled with content.

Besides, all my fans are here. I don't think that I'll use Twitter or Facebook for posting sprite animations.
I'm using them to check people like ZONE, Capcom-Unity or other out.

Social network won't change me. I have the NG BBS. That's all I need.

......Fine. I'll allow this. However, if I catch you cheating on us, we're through. Capiche?

Yes, my master. ( '-')

Good job, son. ( '+' )

Funny, because I already did.
And I don't even have a PS3.

random laughs time !

Already seen that one.
But I bet you didn't know this one.

I signed up for Twitter before it was a front for all artists and corporations to promote their stuff, and it was fun for a while but really it's a bit pointless. Haven't used that in ages. As for FB, everybody has an account there, which is the reason I do too, but apart from mantaining a list of everyone I know around the globe that I can't just call or meet up with, I don't use that either. I like smaller, more creative, more user-driven communites like NG much better. Here the users also have an impact on how the site is developed. I hate the timeline view on FB, and it seems plenty of others do too, but they don't seem to care. :/

Yeah, same goes to me. I needed FB because nearly everyone I knew seemed to ditch MSN/Skype.
I've no interest of what my friends post on FB, because they rarely share their own feelings and mainly post videos or pictures of overused jokes.

I've also noticed that Twitter and Facebook are turning slowly to short ads for companies. I wish, that they should stay away from social platforms all along and post their stuff on their websites.
It's just the same content from the websites anyway.

So, what made me create an account for Twitter and FB?
A) In order to stay in contact with my friends/acquaintances
B) If people are seriously interested into this stuff, then there they have it.

Yeah, and at the same time, since the companies move to using social platforms instead of their own sites then those social platforms just keep growing. One of the things I don't like with many companies that use FB is how they lure in users to the community through contests and giveaways and free stuff, asking users for a like to access the content. They're advertising their company, sure, but at the same time they're advertising FB and moving people away from regular websites. So many people already expect to reach everything through FB, it's like a network inside the Internet, messages replace email, chat replaces other IM services, galleries replace photo hosting, they have games, music, groups... everything. And one person controls it all. :P

Good reasons. :)

Oh god. The thought alone made me cringe.
